It doesn't matter which you build first, you're likely to build both in the
end!
The K2 seemed straightforward to build but does need quality spare time to
assemble. I took a week off work, I guess the assembly time is around 40
hours, that includes a few hours listening on 40m part way through
construction. The K1 isn't in the same league, but is excellent for portable
work and I take mine rather than the K2 due to size and weight - that even
applies to hotel stays when away on business. Oddly enough, the K1 seemed to
need more care to align than the K2...
