[Elecraft] Big fingers-small radio-pencil control

Hi All-
I solved my operating problem of having a hard time getting to
one pushbutton, or just turning one knob at a time like this:
    1. Purchase four rubber O-rings from your local good hardware store
plumbing department. Take a knob with youto check the size. The O-rings
should be measured to snuggly fit over the knob. They are soft enough so
that as I run either the pointy end or the chewed eraser end around the
mounted O-ring it turns the knob in use without hitting an adjacent
knob.
    2. My tuning knob is a heavy knob about the same size as the stock
one. I drilled a 9/64 inch hole in the face of the knob, about half way
from the center to the outside edge. About as deep as the length of the
pencil tip; then I counter sunk that hole with a drill slightly larger
than the pencil eraser diameter. Now either end of my pencil can easily
and quickly find its mark to make tuning easier.
    3. Pushbuttons are easy to locate, but with pencil in hand I found
it even easier when by using my drill or Dremel tool and a small ball
end shaped reaming tool- I could make a small indentation in the center
of each pushbutton that would act to center the end of my pencil.

Go Dayton!!
