The word lid was a bit of a confusion .. I assume you mean the bottom panel.

Mine is mounted the way you describe, too .. assuming I'm interpreting 
you correctly.  I didn't notice any interference (and I have one of the 
first KAT100s and it's been working fine).  But I will pull the bottom 
panel and take a look.
