[Elecraft] KRC2 Band Decoder Controller - huh?

Well, I admit to lacking in imagination, here, but.... after reading what
the KRC2 is supposed to do, I still don't understand why I would want one
attached to my K2. I think it would control antenna selection (if I had
one of those neat remoted coax switches) and band switch a linear (if I
had one of those remotely controlled ones) to match the K2 band
selection. Right? What else would I do with it (since I don't have either
the Coax switch or the linear)?
Maybe when I see the foto of it, it will stimulate some of my brain
cells.
