Andy,
Don't worry. My kit building experience had been confined to some Heathkit
station gear-a VTVM, coax switch, Cantenna, and code practice oscillator-all
done back in the 70s. You can imagine how rusty my soldering skills were.
Early last year, I put together a K2 with most of the options,and later on,
a KPA100, and the KAT100. It all works great, and my Icom 746 now fills in
for SWL RX and some VHF work. I'm really looking forward to building some
of the new options for the K2. Take your time, and if you get tired just put
down the soldering iron until you feel like continuing. Like somebody said,
it's not a timed event.
