Steeper skirts? Not necessarily so. It all depends on the order of the
filter (number of taps). The older superscaf filters had steeper skirts
than many crystal filters.
Also the higher the order in DSP means more processing = more delay and
digital hash. Not a desireable effect on CW.
Since I know nothing of the upcoming DSP for the K2, I can't comment on it.
But if it is anything like the other options for this rig then we can expect
a well designed piece of kit that will complement an already great
transceiver.
