[Elecraft] K2 Voltage Regulators

Hi Gang,
One of the members of the list, Earl K6SE posted yesterday that his K2's
8-volt regulator was putting out more than 8 volts (8.35 Volts, he
reported). This prompted me to take off the cover of my rig (always
dangerous) and take a look.
On the Control board, U4 - the, 8 volt regulator measured 8.32 volts and
U5, the 5 volt regulator measured 5.08 volts. I then started snooping
around the rest of the control board and compared my readings to those on
page 15 of Appendix E in the manual (Revision B). For the most part, just
about everything was measuring higher to one degree or another. Some of the
readings were significant and some weren't (as a percentage of the expected
readings).
I was wondering, if anyone else has gone through this exercise and if I
should think about changing the 8 volt regulator (it has a 4% variance).
Earl's post seemed to indicate that his 8.35 reading might be affecting his
AGC circuit, and presumably numbing the receiver a bit.
I realize that I probably sound inpatient, waiting for Earl's follow-up
post, but I was wondering if anyone else had run across these readings,
particularly in light of the fact that my U4 reading is so similar to Earl's
Thanks in advance for your help
Tom
