Tom, think about mounting the power supply on a fairly firm rubber pad. I
find that mine actually vibrates at 60 Hz rather much so I placed a couple
of those rubber kneeling pads under it and that pretty well isolates it from
the furniture. Otherwise, you can get some microphone pickup if you use a
wide-range mic just from furniture vibration. And I am using a separate
table for the power supply!
But, it works like a charm. Note that on mine, the negative terminal is
hardwired to the chassis unlike the wiring diagram.
