1) I'm Don - W7DAH and I'm subscribed to the digest version of the K2 list primarily as pre-
purchase-research as I continue practicing for the code test and my upgrade.

2) Terrific list and resource fur-sure. Really appreciated. Never seen a better, more active
bunch. Thx.

3) "Spam alert" suggestion: http://www.pmail.com/ Pegasus Mail 4.11 is a terrific E-Mail
software client which is entirely FREE, and despite it's price, it far exceeds all MS Outlook
versions in it's feature set. I have used and been otherwise very satisfied with Outlook
Express for YEARS. AND, while I admit that Pegasus DOES have so many features that a
learning-curve is involved. And, if, like myself, you are steeped in your long-term
commitment to Outlook, there is a weening period required ... once you've given Pegusus a
fair trial, I'm pretty sure you'll love it's spam fighting capabilities. It allows for "Regular
Expression" filtering on a scale which allows it to filter UCE and Spam at a level beyond ALL
the commercial (reads: +/- $39) alternatives combined. And hey, we're Hams ... the
technical issues gonna intimidate anyone here??? ;-) To whoever it was that talked about
killing his ARRL.net address coz of all the spam ... please, don't give in to spam that way ...
I still use the convenience of the ARRL forwarding service and with the help of P.M. I get
ALMOST ZERO spam these days. I mean zippy-do-dah, nada, zip-zelch. And P.M. provides
such powerful tools to fight the stuff, I almost look forward to something slipping past my
filter set so I can further refine my tweaks and then report the stuff so effectively that I have
examples of messages from ISPs letting me know that they have taken action against
offending accounts ... sumptin' to do when band conditions are weak {grin}!

There is also a very nice newsgroup resource committed to P.M. almost as complete as this
list is to Elecraft, HI! Yeah, newsgroups are harvesting sites for spammers/bulk-
mailers/UCE, etc, but with P.M. as your E-mail client, fear not. "comp.mail.pegasus-mail.ms-
windows" And HEY Linux users, P.M. is so technically savvy even Linux users are likely to
be envious of this Windows app, lol!
By the way, if ya wanna visit the standard internet newsgroups regularly, and safely, I also
suggest: http://www.forteinc.com/main/homepage.php (Agent News reader ... hands down
the ONLY way to go when leveraging the full power of internet newsgroups, in my humble
opinion).

If ya wanna read current news about the fight against Spam, visit this Washington Post
article for some fun reading:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7525-2003May2.html

Lastly, I'm just a user of these 2 programs, I have no affilation with either whatsoever.
