I'd like to add my two cents to this.
I understand that a lot of you fellows shave with shards of broken glass &
are going to stick to hand keys till you die... I have no intention to
slight you, it's an honorable philosophy.
Some of us though are interested in higher speeds. Chicken Fat Operators
are not above using keyboards to generate +45 WPM, and it is a fact for us
that slow mushy keying just doesn't cut it.
I used to have am oscilloscope at KPH & I would monitor my transmitters
everyday for keying wave form & frequency. So long at the attack & decay
are smooth like a letter "S" there are no clicks. If the "S" is short, the
keying will have a wider bandwidth, but that does not mean it is a
click. Look at your signal on an oscillograph and it you see no sharp
points you are OK.
One more thing, you might want to go faster yourself someday, isn't it nice
you have a rig that will allow you to do that?
