I was looking at the International Radio web site http://www.inrad.net and
saw the comparisons of the CW bandwidth at 1 Khz either side of the carrier
frequency among some of the transceivers. It looks as if the mod made to the
original (unmodified) version of the FT-1000MP resulted in a significant
improvement implying that key clicks are reduced. The unmodified MP is down
62 dB at +/-1kHz and the modified MP-2 is down 72 dB at +/-1kHz. Using the
same test parameters the K2 was down 54 dB at +/-1 kHz. This is comparable
to the Omni VI+ which is down 56 dB at +/-1 kHz. Some on the reflector have
commented about the excessive Omni VI+ key clicks.
Bottom line, Is everything up to date in Kansas City or does the K2 need
time constant changes?
