Steve,
What is the exact error message you are getting when you run the telnet
command from command line (Start/Run/Cmd/Telnet.exe n7tr)?
Do you see any error messages in the event log
(Start/Run/eventvwr/Application)?

Subject: [Elecraft] Telnet N7TR.com problem revisited...
Hi All-
I appreciate the half-dozen responses to my question from a couple of
days
ago about my inoperative START>RUN>TELNET N7TR.com problem.
I'm pretty certain now that the problem is a so-called "broken socket"
in my
Windows software. (I've seen that message once or twice trying to get
the
TELNET.N7TR.com DX spotter fixed.)
I have verified that my ISP server is working fine, and I've also
determined
that N7TR.com works fine in another PC here in my wife's office using
the
same server with WinME.
I have both full OEM disks containing the WinXP operating system S/W,
and I
can reinstall and/or repair whatever needs fixing if one of you on the
reflector can offer some suggestions about what procedure to follow.
Another possibility would be to return to a recent Win XP "Restore
Point"
and reset the system.
I'll continue fussing with the WinTelnet setup, but any suggestions
would be
very helpful.
Sorry for the off-topic question, but thanks very much for the
bandwidth,
and for your help.
Very 73...
