[Elecraft] K2 with DSP, big NO NO!

Greeting from the 'night owl',

I ain't dissing any product here.. just putting things bluntly IMHO.

W.E. [Wayne & Eric] have designed a great radio K1 or K2. The simpler
the block diagram the less the noise floor will be. Digital is great,
but the K1 nor K2 needs it. I feel that DSP is not needed because I
already can control the amount of noise going into my ears and filtering
it with these options that I have for the K2: Audio Filter, Crystal
filters, RIT, AGC on/AGC off and control of RF gain, Preamp off/ATT on;
or both OFF;, Volume control, and if I don't want to hear the noise at
all, I have a power switch to turn it off so I can quietly sleep.

It will be great for the new models of the advanced K2/K1's to get into
DSP with SMT (for experienced builders) or THRU-HOLE soldering
techniques. Like I said, I am satisfied with a simple circuit for a
radio that has enough 'Bells and Whistles' that I don't even use much.

On a side note, I would like to thank all of the Elecraft team and
persons on the reflector for helping me out with my power problem for a
total of 1 month time having my K2 off of the air. I won't expand on it,
unless someone asks directly. I still have one more problem with my
S-meter reading correctly, but all of you don't need to worry about it,
already have 3 helps.
