It's nothing at all like the butternut.  The Butternut uses traps and linear
decoupling to obtain resonance on the bands it covers.  The Sommer T25 is a
folded monopole with a remote loading resistor coupled to it through a special
transformer.  The principle is the same as the TFTD and other antennas that use
resistance to smooth out SWR variations with frequency.  B&W makes several
antennas like this.  At best, such antennas are a trade off of efficiency vs.
SWR.  This one is a very poor trade off except (perhaps) under optimum
conditions.  I don't recommend inefficient antennas for QRP use!

By the way, I also had a Butternut HF-6V and was quite happy with it.
