Sorry mate, but if EQP is not meant to be an competitive event, we have a
problem. QSO Party implies a competitive event. Scratch the points/Q, bonuses
& so forth if it isn't & please call it something else then.
I believe EQP is neat & could be even better, covering the myriad of
interests of
Elecraft enthusiasts, but it seems I'm talking to myself. ;^)
As well as the silliness Toby mentioned about sending "579 K2 3248 DL" to
another
DL-land station, it is somewhat silly to have participants in little places
send QTH
data at all & in my part of the world, here's one to consider - do I send
the Mandarin
pinyin transliteration of my village name, the Cantonese name
transliterated the right
way, the Cantonese name transliterated the wrong way, or shall I send the CCC
(Chinese commercial code - used for telex) for the traditional Chinese
characters for
my village name?
With large entities, QTH data becomes relevant, but I feel for the poor
bloke in
Szekesfehervar.
I think I'll work on plans for next BERU instead. ;^)
