[Elecraft] EQP my $0..02 worth

Hi all,
         I have read most of the comments about the EQP event....some with
quite a bit of amusement, and it would appear from most comments, everyone
had a good time.
I guess everyone has preconcieved ideas what a QSO party should be like, but
I think Jerry and Pat   have the balance pretty right. No contest
(ooops....QSO party) will be perfect. It is up to the contestants to make it
work,and on the whole, it appears this initial effort *was* succesful. The
fact that few were on SSB is academic.Possibly  a lot of the SSB ops were a
bit bashful about operating what is a basically CW rig on voice, but I
imagine that will change in the next event.
Given a bit more time and advertising and I think this idea will definitely
grow. Unfortunately , with the sinking propogation I am unlikely to improve
on my miserable score, but we need an event like this to sharpen the weak
signal skills.
My only mis-giving concerning frequency allocations is the 20m one. I ended
up working more FISTS members and receiving their numbers than I had EQP
contacts there. Some were so overpowered by the exchange I sent back they
didn't complete the QSO! (baffled perhaps?)
CYa in the next one ......numbers #1 and #2 next time down here perhaps?
