Assembly of K2 #2817A proceeded satisfactorily until it stopped at "40 =
meter transmitter alignment" on page 72.  When power is set at 2.0 =
watts, internal wattmeter reads 0.1 watt, adjustment of L1 or L2 has no =
effect, and LCD indicates 11.5/2.46.  If power setting is increased to =
5.0 watts, wattmeter still reads 0.1 watt, while L1/L2 adjustment =
remains ineffective, and LCD is unchanged at 11.5/2.46.

I built the RF probe & signal generator and started into signal tracing =
after staring at solder joints for a long time.

REF OSC output expected 0.8 - 1.8 Vrms  -  actual 0.784
BFO output expected 0.20 - 0.70 Vrms  -  actual 0.096
BFO Buffer output at TP2 expected 0.025 - 0.070 Vrms  - actual 0.005

I suspect these items will have to be corrected before moving on, since =
no signal and/or meter reading is heard or seen when following the next =
step in the procedure.  Now I need help.  If you decide to respond to =
this plea, please be generous with detail.  My knowledge and experience =
are both limited.
