My thanks to all for the suggestions for getting my speed up.
SO, of course, I tuned around the CW end of 10 and 18 and
found there is something going on that I shall refer to as
"Bedlam!"
It resembles the "roar" I always got whenever I called CQ
Angola or Mozambique. But on CW it must be a nightmare trying
to separate 'X to the Nth power' stations all calling within
the space of a few tens of cycles!!!
So I am down on 20, listening to stations I can seperate. <g>
The question I asked about "wide or narrow" was in respect to
the key. Should the initial point spacing ( for me ) be wide,
or as narrow as possible. It seems awfully hard to try to get
the right number of 'dits', much easier with the 'dahs'
Of course, I'm thinking of getting a single paddle and, as
Andy Wallace said' just "slap it around"
This will be the end of the thread as fat as I'm concerned.. I
could do 13 wpm in a straight key in 1960 when I was first
licensed. I think the brain has started to atrophy now that's
it's 40 years later.
My 14 yr old daughter says I have "Old Timers' Disease". No, I
haven't killed her ---- YET!!
