I wasn't in town on Saturday so I couldn't participate in the EQP and
had not read the rules, but if K1 or K2 were used as either a prefix or
suffix, that could produce a notice of violation from the FCC for US
hams or at least a notice from an OO trying to head one off.

"...No self-assigned indicator may conflict with any 
other indicator specified by the FCC Rules or with any prefix assigned 
to another country."
