If you look at some of the more up to date handbooks for the adapters,
then you will find the recomendation NOT to leave it connected to TP2.

It does cause problems with spurs, especially on the higher bands. I 
know this from personal experience.

This really *should* be changed in the manual or at least be added to the
errata.
