I expect EQP to be a fun activity.... that definition is probably
different for everyone, I suspect. Me? Oh I'll probably fool around with
it most of the day from the starting gun. Nominal CW speed and even try
some SSB. Wonder if I can get PSK going by the weekend? Its not a sprint;
I want to say 'Hello' if I can remember your name. I think I will add my
name to the report (after the State), etc... But it won't be an all-night
Iron Man marathon.
I may camp out about a kc above the usual QRP freqs and CQ EQP for a
while, too. One of my goals is to catch the elusive Wayne and Eric (both
promise to be on) and add their K2 s/n to my collection. I also hope to
add
a number of K1's to my tally which stands at 68 - on the way to 100.
Of course I'm after those FT's, too. So far I've heard from about 10 of
the FT's who said they will be on. Watch the spotting net. I will be
connected to N7TR as I said previously and will spot one when I hear em.
Then too, VR2BG said he would be on from Hong Kong with his QRP rig. I
hope to find Brett. I usually work him most HF contests on 15m about
sundown in CA and I have him logged QRP a few times already. Several EU
stations have indicated they will be active, too. EU comes into CA about
Sun Rise so that will be at the start of the EQP. I will probably start
on 15m.
Have promised to try 160m with K2VCO and N6WG.
Hey, its good to have goals.... QRP is a cut above the rock crushing QRO.
Takes a bit more skill. You can take pride in that fact.
