[Elecraft] A to B mods help please

Hello,

I'm not ashamed to admit it, I need some advise with my K2 mods.

After completing the K2 A to B mods and installing the latest firmware, my
attempts to realign my K2 (s/n 2469) are proving to be challenging.

On the A to B sheet (Jan 4, 2002), page 5, I recorded my original filter
settings in Table 5.

1. On the A to B sheet, page 12, last step, my attempts to reset my
original BFO values from Table 5 are the problem; the BFO Control Parameter
and the BFO frequency interact and, in my vain attempts to reset them to my
original values, I end up going in circles. Changing one changes the other.
In the end, I just entered the pre-mod BFO frequencies (as the step says)
and ignored the resulting BFO Control Parameters. Is this the correct
procedure?

2. Also, on the same page 12, fifth step, I found that the BFO Low
frequency was too high (range was good) and it was necessary to add the two
capacitors mentioned in the next step. The resulting BFO Low was just
slightly too high (4912.75 kHz) and I attribute that to a possible counter
error. The range is good (4.10 kHz). Listening to WWVH (15 MHz), the
frequency readout is very close; am I thus correct in assuming that the K2's
counter is not grossly inaccurate?

3. The PLL osc. is also too high (12096.81 kHz).

4. It is now not possible to set S HI (S-meter). S LO is normal.

I mention items 2-4 only in case they might somehow be related to item 1,
the main "problem".

Can anyone advise me if I am doing something wrong here? Perhaps I am only
supposed to reset the BFO frequencies for each filter and, as I've done,
ignore the BFO control parameters. Is it normal for the BFO parameters and
frequencies to interact? Are the BFO Control Parameters used at all in
aligning the K2's filters? If not, I suppose that is the answer and my
"problem" is solved.

Thanks in advance.
