[Elecraft] LCD Installation

K1 or K2???  (It helps to include that info in any posting.)

In any event, I believe you'll ruin any Elecraft LCD display if you pull off
any of the backing material.  You can probably find some mention of this on
the FAQ section, builders' resources section of the Elecraft web site.  On
my K1, IIRC, there was just enough pin protrusion into the solder holes to
solder nicely, even though the pins didn't go through with any length to
spare.  But it's been 2.5 years since I built mine.
