The assembly manual for the KPA100 calls for the removal of the frequency
counter probe.  Per p48 "Installation" 2nd step: "We recommend
disconnecting the K2's internal frequency counter cable.  Leaving this
cable connected may cause a slight increase in the amplitude of spurious
signals on some bands."
