[Elecraft] ARRL Int. DX Contest

Just banging around the shack this morning. I'm not an avid contester
but get on and look for some good contacts. Since having my K2, 3147,
here I find I hardly turn on my Icom 775.

Anyway, I turned the power down to 5W and made a quick contact on 10M to
TI5U, who by the way answered with a 59 and 5W QRP himself. I answered
with 59 CA and added 5W QRP also. He said "Did you say 5W?" I said, "You
bet, its my new K2!" He then said,"Wow, sounds great! TNX for the 59!"
And that made my day. Also worked a KH6 with 3 watts and broke into a
pile up to boot.

This rig and a good antenna seems to make the difference. My antenna is
a Cushcraft X9 at 60 ft and there is a little line loss from the shack.
Its about 200 ft from here. The TX audio is really nice. Hope to hear
and work some of you on EQP, March 8/9.
