Both Digipan and WinPSK worked very well for me. I'm not sure WinPSK is
still around.=20

As a "sometimes" PSK operator, I use a simple plug that goes in the
microphone jack. It has an attenuator for the sound card audio output =
with a
long cord to reach my PC sound card output and a switch for
transmit/receive. Sure, it's not as "fancy" as connecting to the =
computer
RS-232 port, but it is "hammer-simple" and plenty fast enough for normal =
PSK
operations. Just hit RX on the keyboard and, when the final characters =
go by
on the screen, flip the little toggle switch to put the K2 in Rx mode. =
When
the other guy turns it over, hit TX and throw the switch again.=20

The attenuator was shown in documentation with either WinPSK or Digipan. =
I
believe that it's a 5 K resistor across the mic input with 1 meg in =
series
with the audio coming from the PC line out.=20

Audio to the PC is from the headphone jack with as simple stereo audio =
cable
to the PC sound card "line" input.=20

I like to hear what's going on with the K2 audio output, so I use a =
Radio
Shack "Y" that feeds the K2 phones audio to two jacks. One to the PC and =
one
to my phones. Then I can put them on my head to hear the warble if I =
want.=20

You can spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on an interface that =
works
just as good. But five bucks and a trip into my junk box for a switch =
works
fine for me.

Operating the rig, set your power well ABOVE what you are going to run.
Control the RF power output by holding down the audio gain coming into =
the
K2 to keep the K2 ALC from responding. For example, if you want to run 5
watts PSK, set the K2 POWER control for 10 watts and then set the audio
from the PC for 5 watts RF output.=20
