[Elecraft] OFF TOPIC magnetic loop antenna

Look closer at the drawing. The center conductor goes all the way around.
The shield is cut half way around. Both halves of the shield and the far end
of the center conductor are all connected together. Yes, it is a dead
short at DC, but when the antenna is tuned to your operating frequency it
will be a 50-ohm load.

Subject: [Elecraft] OFF TOPIC magnetic loop antenna

I have my antenna it is a 3' diameter copper octagon with a trombone
capacitor. I want to use the faraday loop to couple to it and this my
problem all the sites that discuss how to build these antennas just seem to
gloss over the faraday loop. I want to make sure I get it right so here is
what I understand about the faraday loop and correct me if I am wrong
please.
the center conductor of the rg8 from the rig enters the faraday loop at the
bottom goes have way around where the coax is cut in two and the center is
then soldered to the shield and continues around the loop to the bottom
where it the shield is then soldered to the shield. now if I am right this
seems like a dead short would be presented to the transmitter so please help
me here.
I want my k2 to survive
