You will really love the KAT2, at first I used an LDG Z-11 outboard auto
ATU... while it's OK and can be used on other rigs, the KAT2 works so well
that I wouldn't be without it. The noise blanker depends on the noise levels
at your location, I don't have any so didn't bother with the KNB2. The KIO2
is a matter of personal choice, it does work very well and being able to
send CW via the RS232 input to the K2 is brilliant - I use G4ILO's K2net
program on my home network and have had many QSOs that way from the front
room "arm chair copy" takes on a whole new meaning. Don't forget that if you
plan to use your K2 portable, each of these add-ons will increase the
current consumption, some more so than others.
The K1 is cute and takes around 4 days to make (and is very economical on
batteries).... Looks like there is a cure for your depression!
