Martin,

Someone had "embedded" their magnets in the side of their radio in the 
past.  I didn't save the e-mail, but you might want to search the archive 
of the elecraft reflector with keywords of palm, paddle, and magnet, and 
see what you come up with.

I hope this helps.  But look on the bright side:  Even if don't end up 
using the magnets for mounting the Palm to the K2, you will have some 
really strong magnets to hold things to your refrigerator.
