Yes, my low power K2 cover with its internal battery sits on the shelf most
of the time too.
The battery is kept fully charged with a direct connection to the battery
and an A & A Engineering SmartCharger - you can see all the relevant
information on my website at www.qsl.net/w3fpr. The battery connection has
been implemented with safety in mind, and can be used with any controlled
charger rather than the A & A Engineering unit that I used. The charger
designed by Bob Lewis (often on this reflector) and featured in a QST
article last year is another good charger to use.
