Earl -- have you considered the possibility that you had a substandard 
unit?  I'm not sticking up for Ten-Tec by any means (haven't got an Orion, 
and at *that* price, I ain't gonna get one!) but other comments on this 
reflector and the reviews on eham.net suggest that your unit may have been 
below par.
