I can recommend the "Automatic Sealed-Lead-Acid Battery Charger" by Bob 
Lewis AA4PB, described in the May 2001 issue of QST.  It was designed 
with the K2 and the Power-Sonic PS-1229A 12V, 2.9Ah battery in mind.
