sorta like the microphone thread,,,,

Some guys will buy $300 mic for a sideband rig,,!!! or a $150 mic that
costs $1.85 from china. So I suppose why not buy a big, well built wood
box..
with a $ 6.00 spkr.. bet it does sound great. Use that old 6X9 car speaker!

Just about any DECENT speaker, sittin' on top of the K2, pointed at your
face will sound real good !!! 3" - 4" ideal for spl vs freq response &
efficiency. Bigger than 5", I think would be a waste. Trying to move way
too much air.

whatever floats your boat !!!

I found a really neat little 4" thin mobile speaker. Loud & the response
curve i want.It was called EURO CB.. it had two rocker switches on the face
also,,a mute 8db and a noise filter (rolloff) .usually about 10 $.. last
week I found a guy selling some for $4.50. I plan to use the two switches
for something completely different than intended.

now i will go hide and change out those crystals.
bill
