I plead guilty as charged. This antenna consists of a base unit with
three variable capacitors and two coax fittings on the side to which
are attached the ends of one of two coax cables that form the
loop. The longer (2.45 m) cable is for some bands between 3.6MHz and
145MHz, and the smaller loop (1 meter long) for the other bands
between 21.0 and 30 MHz. The longer loop requires a vertical support
piece. The base unit is about the size of a cigar box, the two pieces
of coax roll up to a circle about a foot in diameter, and the vertical
support separates into two pieces about 18" long. In short, this
magloop breaks down fairly well into a small light package. It
supports 50 Watts.
The design is by Helmut Bensch, DL4KCJ, Antenna Engineering, in
Bonn. His web page no longer seems associated with
www.hamradio-portal.com, but I gather he can be reached by e-mail at

IP address, in which case, AOL will block your messages ;-(
