[Elecraft] question on Heil hand mics for K2

Hi all,

This may be a dumb question. I am now the proud owner of a used K2 (new =
to me!!). I need to buy a hand mic for it. It is currently wired for a =
Yaesu mic. I understand the wiring can be easily changed for an =
alternate mic. My question regards what are the differences between the =
various types of Heil HMM mics and which would work best with the K2. =
The Heil HMM-Y and -K (for Yaesu and Kenwood rigs, respectfully) have 2 =
condenser elements. The Heil HMM-iC (for ICOM rigs) has one condenser =
element, and is tweaked for older ICOM rigs that require a pre-amp in =
the mic. The Heil/Elecraft MH2 has one condenser element, and I'm not =
sure if it has a pre-amp. =20

My question is - is the only difference between the HMM-iC and MH2 just =
in the 8-pin wiring, or are there other differences? How well would the =
HMM-Y/-K or HMM-iC work with the K2, as compared to the MH2? Any advice =
would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. 73 de Curt AE6EJ
