[Elecraft] K-1 vs Icom IC-703 -- More tests

I'm on 40 meters almost every morning working weak signals on 7040 kHz and have been comparing my K-1's (yep....I have two of them now) against my IC-703.
 
I worked a station this morning in New York (my QTH is Indiana) and he was running a whole 500 mW.  The K-1's were receiving him just fine...weak... about a 329 RST...but readable.  The IC-703, using the same antenna as the K-1's could not even hear him.  I was using my 88' ladder line fed doublet up 35'.
 
Incredible the difference!  The little K-1's have some big ears!
