This is because you were displaying frequency on the K2 when you pressed
STORE+RECALL.  This puts the K2 in the direct frequency entry mode.

To get to the clock, you must be displaying a DSP menu.  While the DSP menu
is being displayed you press STORE+RECALL to enter the clock menus.  The
first line of the second paragraph on page 33 is the key.
