Since you will be changing your bandwidth you will need to reset your
filters to match.
The easiest way I have found is to first of all tune in a SSB station
(that has a good signal) and adjust your filter to where the received
station sound good to your liking.
Then go into spectrogram (I used the freeware version) and look at your
bandpass using background noise, a noise source, etc.
Now still using spectrogram set up a top and bottom freq mark at the
top and bottom of your bandpass curve (Mine came out to be 200 & 2600
as that sounded best to me).
Now switch to the other side band and adjust the curve to match, flip
back and forth a few times to make sure they look and sound the same
(still using noise not a signal).
When your all done hook your antenna back up and tune in (zero beat) a
AM station (I used WWV on 10 MHz) flip back and forth between the two
side bands and it should sound the same.
I set all my SSB xtal filters the same since I will be getting the DSP
unit and will use that to narrow the bandwidth, but you can feel free
to set the filters up to your liking.
