[Elecraft] ARS Sprint

By the time I got home the Sprint was already half over but I decided
to try my new Tiny Tornado (250 mW transceiver and 9V Battery inside
Altoids Tin). Well the Tiny Tornado lacked the mojo of my K1 -- made a
big fat ZERO QSOs. The Cleveland 50,000 watt clear channel AM station
and a French speaking AM BC or SWBC kept blowing in. I could hear
several CW stations under the racket on both of the two freqs the rig
covers (rock bound around 7.040) but it was rough to pull callsigns out
of the QRM and the ones I did manage never heard my call. I need to
work on a high pass filter to block the BC stations.

It would have been nice to make a few contacts as the Tiny-T only
weighs like 3 oz including 9V battery (The Spartan Sprint has a
"skinny" entry where your equipment weight acts as a DIVIDER so the
lighter the better)

Oh well maybe next month :-)
