I believe it woill work just fine that way.
Seems like I recall Wayne saying that the swing
was just to be sure there would be enough range
for everyone.  The actual range used would be
something like 5 kHz in practice.
Hope I got that right :-)

Hey Gang,

Got to the point where I'm listening to sigs on 40 meters on the K2! The BFO
and VCO are working great, and I aligned the filters no problem. The only
thing I see that may be an issue is that I'm getting 14 KHz of swing on the
PLL Ref Osc vs. the specified 13 KHz max swing. It  tunes from 12099 KHz
down to 12085 KHz. CAL PLL worked fine, but I'm wondering if this will cause
any problems to arise? Going to heat up the iron tonight and try to get the
TX going. Have a trip to WI on the 9th and would like to get the basic unit
finished before I leave for 2 weeks. Thanks...
