[Elecraft] K2 build: low sig strength on 40m (more)

I should add: the slug did turn over and over again at the bottom end of 
its travel without actually changing the height of the adjuster.  It just 
felt like the normal amount of resistance (that happens within the normal 
tuning range), but without any height change.  Is this a sign of damage?
