Now you have identified your problem!
Taping MENU will not store your setting.  You need to change to another
filter to store your setting.

Normally you would go through all your filters in sequence to set them all
up simultaneously.  Just change filter after positioning the filter in CAL
FIL and when you cycle around without leaving the CAL mode you will see the
shape properly positioned.

i am still having problems getting the transmit and receiv frequencys to
line up
every time i run call fill with spectrogram i line up the filter shape but
when i tap menu to store the setting the filter shape moves
trying on air test results in the tx frequency being 500hz low and the
receiv frequency being 300hz high
i have seen some postings about this type of problem in the reflector but
without a satisfactory conclusion

ps never say its fixed till you have tested it with someone you trust
