Elecraft CW Net report for July 27th, 2003
20 meters was pretty quiet on 14051 kHz tonight. First up was Tom, N0SS with rig number 008 (I guess he has a license to kill :) He was a great help with his beam
pulling information out of those easterners. I could get their call signs but little else. But radio is just like sales, location, location, location. That and a beam plus a
kilowatt :) We had a great list of check ins this evening with his help. I have gotten a couple of emails stating for one reason or another some of my earlier checkins
missed this session. But, never fear, your faithful NCS will be here next week trying once more to see who I can drag out of the wood work. Jim, K5JAZ checked in
at the very last minute. Time was getting short or I would have asked a few of you southerners to call the net to see how many others we could have reached. I
think I had four minutes between nets this week!
N0SS - Tom (helped as relay NCS)
N6JW - John
WG4S - Dan (yes I got you! I could hear you pretty well, 449, but 20 meters is not always reciprocal :)
NK6A - Don
N5TW - Tommy
K7NR - Stephen
K5JAZ - Jim
40 meters was noisy and a bit tougher to get folk's attention. We had to move up a bit to 7054 kHz because there were some folks contesting. I didn't hear them
but one of the others did and recommended we move on up. First up was Jim, K5JAZ whom I first met while trying to check into the Elecraft voice net. When I could
not be heard on voice I tried CW and he picked me up. After the net I caught him trying to hustle up Sam, KL7V/5 for another serial number :) Then Tom checked in
as did my friend Sam. They both called the net as relay NCS for me. Thanks guys.
K5JAZ - Jim
N0SS - Tom (helped as relay NCS)
KL7V/5 - Sam (helped as relay NCS)
Eight check ins for the two nets is the best I've done so far. Thank you very much for participating.
Until next week,
VY 73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net control operator 5th class).
