[Elecraft] Crystal Filter and BFO Settings

Second question:

I have read the section "Crystal Filter and BFO Settings" in the manual
several times.  As I understand it the arrow labeled BFO in Figure 10-1 =
is
the BFO setting for CW and LSB (lower bands).=20

1. Is this the same as the BF1, BF2, etc in table 8-1?  If so why aren't =
all
of those for CW Norm and LSB exactly the same (or as close as you can =
get)?

2. When I change any one of these and cycle through the other filters =
and
come back to it, the signal has gone back to where it was before. WHY? =
And
again, assuming these don't take affect till I do CAL PLL, I do so, and =
the
signal is still in the wrong place.  WHY?
