Seriously, your KPA100 should not behave the way you describe. It sounds like
omething is causing a lot of stray RF coupling from the antenna via the KPA100
and back into the K2, possibly via the auxBus, 12 V, or ground lines. The
mounting position of RFC10 is important.
Gary can certainly help you debug this. Meanwhile, as an experiment, I'd suggest
inserting a current balun (also known as a "choke balun") between the PA and the
40-m antenna. You might also describe your antenna system to Gary and me in
detail (off the list). One way or another we'll get both your KPA100 and your
truck working.
