No, the clock keeps on ticking.

If you put the DSP so it is displaying the clock, then hit DISPLAY, it will
be there for you, exactly like the KAF2.  The differences are:

1) the clock will need a "refresh cycle" of 1 second to display the current
time, and

2) you need to exit the clock menu to change DSP settings.

New firmware for the DSP tends to happen as bugs are discovered and fixes
found and tested.  You never know when that might happen.
