Remember that before you can operate, if using an antenna other than a
1/2 wave horizontal dipole, you must calculate your maximum gain in
reference to a 60M 1/2 wave horizontal dipole in free space. And then
calculate the maximum power you can use that would give you 50W ERP
relative to that free space dipole. These calculations must be
recorded in your log book. Only then can you go on the air.
