[Elecraft] RTTY Mode Filter Settings for PSK31

David,

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I think you're going about this the
wrong way. I've never felt that the Digipan style of operating anywhere in
the filter passband is a good idea, because even without unwanted AGC
action from other signals, you'll be getting unwanted attenuation on all
those signals that are somewhere down the sloping part of the passband. I
don't think it helps your transmit signal much either if the audio tone is
on the sides of the passband.

What I do is to use just one narrow filter and tune the K2 to bring the
wanted signal to its center. I have the KIO2 installed in my K2 and I use
MixW, which lets you send CAT commands in a macro, so all it takes is to
click on the signal in the waterfall, then click one macro button to shift
the VFO and center the signal. The same approach can be used in CW mode to
instantly spot on a CW signal. I don't use other programs, so I don't know
which others support CAT control and macros.

I am experimenting with filter settings in the RTTY/Data Mode (r bar) for
use
with PSK 31.

My objective is to prevent a strong signal at one end of the waterfall
display
from activating the receiver AGC to the extent that I can't copy a weak
signal
at the other end of the waterfall.
