Hi Dave:
I finished my newest toy yesterday and have been trying to sort everything
out, 'cuz I didn't even know what I should expect. However, here is what I
have.....
CW Mode
XFIL4 - 200 HZ
DSP C4 - 50 Hz at center freq of 600
Noise Reduction OFF
Both Gains set to 0.0
Noise generator at antenna
Output from External Speaker to 'puter
Looking at it in Spectrogram
At the approximate 6db down point, the width is 117 Hz.
At the approx 60db down point, the width is 455 Hz.
Now... if I change the XFIL to 1000 Hz with everything else the same, I get
At the approx 6db down point the width is 194 Hz.
At the approx 60db down point the width is 616 Hz.
I'm still trying to sort all this new(for me) technology out.
Hope this helps...
73,
Ken K3IU

Subject: [Elecraft] KDSP2 and Spectrogram
| Hi Gang
|
| My KDSP2 arrived yesterday, took a couple of hours to build and install.
| Works fine on air... However, tonight I hooked up Spectrogram and a noise
| generator. The filter doesn't look as narrow as I would have expected and
| appears no narrower than about 200 Hz - even when set to "50 Hz".
Settings,
| CW, 700 Hz centre frequency and de-noiser off.
|
| Has anyone else checked theirs and am I doing something wrong?
|
| Thanks
|
