[Elecraft] Frequency counter probe

Hi all,

A quick question:

Is it necessary to leave the frequency counter probe plugged into TP2 to
perform BFO filter settings?  If I leave it unplugged I will not be able
to see the actual BFO frequency, but I will see the DAC setting and the
absence of the probe will not affect tuning the DAC, right?  I ask
because I installed the KPA100 so I can't leave the probe in and I'd like 
to be able to adjust filters with spectrogram without having to remove
the KPA100 every time.

By the way, the radio is playing very nicely and it all even fits into
the bag.  I'll be QRV as HC1/N1KO with the K2 in about 10 days, or as
soon as I can get the license in my hands, whichever comes first :)
